Surname Saturday: EISWERTH

My great grandfather was Charles Edward EISWERTH. He was born 22 Jun 1885 in Limestone township, Lycoming county, Pennsylvania. He traveled east looking for work and married Angela Catherine COUCHIE on 14 Oct 1919 in East Palestine, Columbiana county, Ohio. They had one child, my grandfather, Joseph Francis. Then they moved back to Lycoming county and lived on their farm near Bastress. Charles died 7 Mar 1949, at the age of 63.

Charles was the son of Lewis M EISWERTH and Maria DINCHER. Lewis was born 25 May 1849 in Bavaria to Lewis M EISWERTH and Theresa WESTERICH. He died 28 Mar 1928 in Lycoming county. Lewis and Maria were married on 7 May 1871. Their other children were Charles Jacob EISWERTH, John Edward EISWERTH, Maria Elizabeth EISWERTH DORWART, Theresa Catharina EISWERTH, George Michael EISWERTH, August Peter EISWERTH and Agnes Cecilia EISWERTH.
