Welcome to Gen Wish List! Thanks for taking a moment to stop by.

The Gen Wish List blog is where you will find all the adventures of a 30-something genealogist. I write about everything from my family history records to cemetery hopping to crazy genealogy conferences to libraries to brick walls and much more. I’m here to prove that genealogy is fun and addicting for people of all ages, not just retired grandmas.

Hi! My name is Tina Lyons. I started my genealogy research in the Spring of 2008. I was looking for something to keep my busy during my summer break (I was a substitute teacher). Even before summer came, I was hooked on searching for my ancestors. From finding my grandparents in the 1930 census to reading old newspapers in hopes of find any mention of my ancestors, genealogy has kept my interest.

My hobby took over my life and I am now a professional genealogy researcher and lecturer. You can find out more about the services and lectures I offer on my website (http://www.genwishlist.com).

My website, Indiana's Gore (http://www.indianasgore.com) is where I post information on researching ancestors in Southeastern Indiana. I also post databases I have created when searching my Indiana ancestors in Switzerland, Ohio and Dearborn counties.

I am lucky to currently live in Fort Wayne, Indiana where I have lots of access to the Allen County Public Library's Genealogy Center (the second largest genealogy collection in the US). I am a member of many genealogy societies and am the current Vice President of the Indiana Genealogical Society.
